Benefits of Postpartum Support

Postpartum doulas support the transition to parenthood whether it is your first baby or your fifth baby. The postpartum season doesn't have to be lonely and overwhelming. Doulas support emotionally with empathy and encouragement, providing a safe place to process and not have it all together or figured out. I'll provide reliable evidence-based resources for you on newborn care, feeding (whether breastfeeding or bottle feeding) and postpartum recovery. We'll discuss postpartum mood and anxiety disorders and I'll make referrals when necessary. I want you to feel confident to parent your new baby. I'll support family and parent bonding by offering practical support in the form of nourishing meals, laundry, light household tasks, sibling support, newborn care so you can rest. My hope is that when our time is up together you and your family feel confident and bonded with your new baby. If there are other ways I can support you, please just ask! Every family is different and my postpartum support is always tailored to your family needs and rhythms. Take a moment to read what DONA International says about postpartum doula support and our role.
